 How long does the experience last?
Approximately 20 minutes

Is the experience suitable for all ages?
This experience is open to any children up to the age of 16 years old. Although there is no minimum age to take part, we recommend our sessions for children aged 3 and above.

Do children need to be accompanied by an Adult?
Yes, all children in attendance must be accompanied by a responsible adult, parent or guardian at all times throughout the session.

Is food and drink permitted in the space?
No food or drink is permitted in the event space.

What clothing is recommended?
We recommend wearing clothing and shoes suitable for messy play that you are not bothered about getting dirty. If goo gets on clothing it can be easily removed by soaking in vinegar for 10 minutes and then placed in the wash.

Will protective clothing be provided?
Yes, protective aprons will be provided for all children attending a session

Is the slime safe to use?
Yes all ingredients in our goo is child-safe and non-toxic.

 

We understand that some children may have specific medical or sensory needs. Our slime‑making activity uses water‑based, non‑toxic ingredients, and none of the materials we use contain oils. This includes:
  • Scola ready‑mixed paint – water‑based and non‑toxic
  • PVA glue – a water‑based adhesive
  • Bicarbonate of soda
  • Slime activator – typically saline/borate‑based and oil‑free

    If your child has any medical considerations (including oxygen use or sensitivity to particular substances), please feel free to let us know in advance so we can ensure they have a safe and enjoyable experience.

    Do I have to book?
    Yes – whilst tickets are free, booking is advised due to limited capacity. We will have limited walk-up slots available for each session, however we strongly recommend booking in advance to avoid disappointment.

    Are there any specific rules for Goo HQ?
    Participants will follow our presenter who will demonstrate how to create your goo. Event staff will also be on hand to assist. Participants must follow instructions by our presenter and staff. Participants are also expected to behave respectfully towards staff and other guests.

    What are SEN sessions?
    SEN sessions are specifically designed for guests who may benefit from a calmer environment, whilst still getting the full Goo HQ experience. These will be the first session each day and will feature:
    • Reduced capacity of 20 children + parents/guardians (limited number of walk-in spaces).
    • Lower sound levels
    • Staff assisting at tables rather than a presenter on a microphone.

    Will handwashing facilities be available?
    Handwashing facilities are available at the nearest centre restrooms, by Eat Central

    Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
    Yes the experience is fully accessible. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have any additional access needs or require any assistance.

    Will there be storage for personal belongings?
    We will have storage cubbies where customers can leave personal belongings. Please note these are not lockable or secure, so any items are left at your own risk.

    Can participants take their goo home?
    Yes, at the end of your session, you can keep your own creations and take these home with you. Please note that goo usually lasts 2-3 days after it’s made, before it begins to lose its gooeyness.

    Can I bring a buggy or stroller?
    Buggies can be brought to the event but will need to be left in our designated area due to space limitations within the event space.

    What if I need to cancel or change my booking?
    Bookings can be changed via our booking website. Once a booking has been confirmed it can be amended to another date/ time subject to availability. Any issues please contact us directly at bookings@mymerryhillevents.co.uk

    Is there parking nearby?
    Yes, Merry Hill offers ample parking, including accessible spaces.

    Do adults need a ticket?
    No, adults do not require a ticket. Bookings should only be made for children wishing to attend. Please note that children must be accompanied by an adult at all times throughout the experience.

    Where is Goo HQ located?
    You’ll find Goo HQ inside Merry Hill, on the Lower Mall opposite Harvey Norman and next to Clarks. A mall map can be viewed here

    Should I arrive before my allocated time slot?
    Yes, please arrive 5-10 minutes before your scheduled time. This will give you time to check in and get your protective apron. The experience begins promptly and late arrivals may not be admitted to avoid disrupting the session for everyone else. If you are running late, we will do our best to get you in, or move you onto the next available session.

    How can I speak to someone about my booking?

    Will there be any extra sessions available?
    No the sessions advertised are the only sessions available and spaces are on a first come first served basis. So make sure you book your spot early to avoid disappointment.
